On Wednesday, December 1st, six 10th grade students attended a leadership conference in Bemidji. Through high energy, interactive (and sometimes silly) challenges, the students were exposed to creative problem solving, communication and collaboration.
After the event, the students summarized their experiences. Here is what they had to say:
While attending the Team-Up Leadership Conference in Bemidji, we learned ways to become better leaders in school, sports, and in life. The leadership speaker, Craig Hillier, talked about how to lead by example, how to persevere through adversity, and we practiced our teamwork skills. We learned all these skills through Craig sharing his past experiences and hearing the thoughts and ideas of students from schools around northern Minnesota.
