Fosston High School Knowledge Bowl teams have been working hard this year to show what they know. Advisor Ron Berntson shared the following about this years' teams:
The top team has done very well all year, but all of them have done exceptionally well. This last week, Max, Liam, Annika, Christian, and Aaron commanded the board all day and ended up scoring 37 points above the next highest team at UMC. Although it was a regular meet, this was a new record for us. This coming Tuesday (postponed until March 2) we are at UMC for sub-regions. Looking at the competition there, we hope to do well again...but Knowledge Bowl, along with any other sport can have its ups and downs. I know we will do well enough there to go on to regions at TRF two weeks and a day later. That's the big one. Four schools from our two-region area will be afforded the opportunity to go to State.
We began practicing November 8th, and practice 4 mornings a week. Students are also asked to do independent study. For the students that do make it all the way, State is the 7th and 8th of April, a 5 month season for them and a huge commitment.
