Fosston Public School's Beginning School Year Information

7th Grade Orientation-Wednesday, August 28, 2024

Fosston students recently had a wonderful experience traveling to Washington, D.C.! Because of our group's size, we joined Win-E-Mac. On the trip, students were able to visit many sites, including the Capitol Building, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Gettysburg, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Smithsonian Institute of National History, Smithsonian Institute of American History, and National Museum of the United States Army. Monuments visited were for the Pentagon (9/11), Jefferson, FDR, Lincoln, Washington, MLK, WWII, Marines, Vietnam War, and Korean War.

2024-25 Magelssen Elementary School Supply List

The CIVIC Center / District Office parking lot will be closed for construction. Please use the North Gym/Foyer door until it is finished.

All Fosston Public School Offices will be closed July 4th and 5th

High School Yearbooks will be available for pickup in the District Office on June 13th from 8:30 am until 2 pm. After that you can stop in Monday-Thursday 8 am until 2 pm. There are no extra yearbooks, stop in only if you ordered one.

Mrs. Halbur's Kindergarten Lucky Letters Update: We were able to reach our goal of getting a letter from ALL 50 STATES with one day of school left! A big thank you to all who sent letters, connected me with friends/family, or just followed along on this journey. I have never before seen my students so interested in learning about maps and their country! Also, thank you to the Thirteen Towns Newspaper for sharing our story and the fun picture of our class.

The Magelssen Elementary yearbooks are in. You may pick up your yearbook Monday thru Thursday anytime between 7am and 3pm and Friday from 7am to 12pm. Also, we have extra yearbooks if you were unable to make your order and would like one.

Members of the Fosston High School robotics team Guns-N-Robots made a visit to Magelssen Elementary School on Tuesday to promote robotics and discuss their successful season. Kyla Faldet, Christian Olson, and Aaron Gutterud shared details about the robotics program, gave a demonstration of the capabilities of their robot, and discussed their high school activities and upcoming college plans. The team members spoke of the problem solving that was necessary and the many hours of work they invested in their robot. Gunnar Vesledahl was also a member of the team but was unable to join them.

As of Thursday afternoon, 632 boxes of cereal line the halls of Magelssen. The Student Leaders are charting the progress for the school, so they can see their goals! #WeAreFosston #FosstonStrong

Preschool registration night is May 9 from 4:30-6pm. If your child will be 3 or 4 by September 1, 2024 and you are planning to send them to preschool next year, you won't want to miss registration night. This is you chance to meet the teachers, see the classrooms, fill out registration paperwork, sign up for screening if needed, and ask any questions you have. Update on Mrs. Halbur's Kindergarten Class' Lucky Letters Project: We had some letters fall through, but the good news is that ONLY 12 STATES REMAIN! Arkansas California Delaware Hawaii Idaho Kentucky Missouri Nebraska Nevada Oregon Rhode Island Wisconsin If you or someone you know is able to send us a letter from one of these states please comment on this post. My kindergarteners have absolutely loved getting mail and learning about each state. A HUGE THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE SENT!
