Today during inside recess Mrs. Carlin’s class was able to work with a partner to create and build. The extra time with the activity bins is nice but we sure miss outside recess. Using our imaginations keeps us growing #FosstonStrong!

On the first day back from break Mrs. Halbur’s kindergarteners realized the grinch had come in and stolen all of their holiday decorations! They spent the day doing grinch themed activities and discussing how it’s not about the stuff, it’s about the people you are around and how you treat one another with kindness 💕 #FosstonStrong

Fosston Schools will utilize an e-learning (distance learning) day for all students Wednesday, January 5. Buildings will be closed and no buses will be operating. Teachers will post lessons using Google Classroom and SeeSaw and will be available throughout the school day to assist students. There will be no after school activities.

Due to extremely poor visibility, Fosston schools and buses will run two hours late Wednesday, January 5. Please stay alert for further updates should conditions become worse.

Fourth and fifth grade students learned the basic idea of Exponential Decay as they worked with triangles to create Christmas trees. Very cool #FosstonStrong results!

Mr. Ron Berntson, a Science instructor at FHS, has been teaching a bridge-building activity to his 9th Grade Intro to Chemistry & Physics class for 28 years. It's always fun to watch as the classes test the strength of their bridges. Reese Wedin & Ebony Roste impressed the crowd during this year's annual bridge-breaking activity. The freshmen girls' bridge held 201 pounds! #FosstonStrong

First graders from Magelssen Elementary shared lunch with Fosston Rotarians and enjoyed a visit from Santa on Thursday, December 16. Entertainment was provided by Angie Boushee, Alyssa Macy, Loren Dryburgh and Nathan Fultz. What a wonderful way to celebrate a #FosstonStrong tradition!

Today the Magelssen Elementary Student Leaders wrote over 55 holiday letters to those actively serving our country. They sent them to Fosston graduates or those with a Fosston connection to let them know they are thankful for their service and that they are loved by the Fosston community. We are #FosstonStrong

Fosston High School students can join in the Holiday fun next week with dres-up days on Monday through Wednesday! The Student Council and the FFA will be pairing up to sell Hot Cocoa and Cookies during the lunch periods as well. #FosstonStrong

Early Childhood had so much fun at the storybook walk last Thursday night. Santa surprised us and came to visit with the kids and there was a big snow pile too! What a great night. #FosstonStrong

Native American drum group called "North Twin" recently visited Magelssen elementary school and Fosston High school to perform for students throughout the day. It was a wonderful experience for all! #FosstonStrong

Students from Magelssen Elementary and Fosston High School recently took part in the Special Olympics Unified Bowling Invitational in Bagley, and had a great time! Special Olympics Unified Events and Sports promote social inclusion through shared sports, joining people with and without intellectual disabilities together. Playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding! #FosstonStrong

We have been having so much fun in ECFE. This week we were making salt dough ornaments, reading, painting, making snow forts with shaving cream and enjoying some music and movement during our group time. ECFE is for children from birth through age 5 and their parents to learn together through play and activities. There is even a special time just for parents to visit and learn from each other about different parenting topics. We still have openings on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Kindergarten and 1st grade students enjoyed using Play-Doh along with popsicle sticks and old DVDs to create shapes and 3D objects in STEM class. Keep using our imaginations and growing #FosstonStrong!

The Fosston FFA members recently attended Ag and Natural Resources Activities Day at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Members participated in 11 different contests throughout the day. The Fosston livestock team placed 3rd overall and Andre Egoroff took 1st place in individual livestock! Congratulations to all! #FosstonStrong
